Turmeric Health Benefits

Turmeric has a variety of health benefits including boosting the immune system.

Turmeric is an exciting herb which originates from India and Southeast Asia having an orange or yellow color. For over 4000 years Turmeric has been used as a spice in India and has been used extensively in Ayurveda and Chinese medicine.

Recently, turmeric has been studied in regards to its action for glucose to be transferred in and diabetic benefits. There is a vast series of chemical reactions from the time insulin arrives at the cell membrane until ultimately glucose is transferred into the cell (intracellular cell signaling). The extent of turmeric’s action is extensive as it enhances the effect of major enzymes in the insulin/GLUT 4 signaling pathway.
